Alan Engelstad

Alan Engelstad is the co-founder of Interchange Associates, its first president and a senior practitioner of the methodology. He advises C-suite executives on how to get the major changes they want through executive actions leveraging available means. The changes achieved capture latent value that would otherwise be out of reach. For over 35 years Engelstad has advised companies in the energy, financial, communications, manufacturing and real estate sectors as well as social-sector organizations in health care, education, housing and social enterprise innovation.

As an Adjunct Professor of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University, Montreal, Engelstad was Cycle Director for the International Masters Program for Managers (IMPM), a transformative executive management development program cofounded by Henry Mintzberg and delivered internationally by a consortium of five high ranking management schools. The IMPM has been Ranked #1 for International Management by Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking North America for the last seven years running.

Also with Mintzberg, Engelstad helped launch the International Masters for Health Leadership at McGill (IMHL), a spinoff of the IMPM. He designed and delivered The Catalytic Mindset: Achieving Change, the final 10-day module for each of the IMHL’s first six cycles.

Mr Engelstad lives in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, Canada, where he has been active in developing rural community social and economic innovations.
